This is a relaxed ride with an experienced ride leader to grow your confidence with group riding. The route consists of trails and bike-friendly streets. Everyone will ride the hills at their own pace and we always regroup at the top and before any turns so you need not be concerned about being left behind. We will start and finish at Burnett Linear Park in downtown Renton located along Burnett Ave S between S. 4th and S 5th St. The route takes us along the Green River and Duwamish Trails to South Park and to our mid-point coffee break at Starbucks at Alki beach (mile19). We’ll return via same route. The ride will take about 4 hours including rest stops.
Stops: Foster Links Golf Course (mile 6-brief restroom stop), Alki Starbucks (mile 19)-20 minutes for coffee and pastries
"Steady Pace" is 12-14 mph on flat surface without any headwind. We will go slower on hills and with a headwind and faster going downhill. You should dress appropriately for the weather and all you need is a working bike and a helmet. Please arrive 20 minutes before the published start time to ready your bike, check in and participate in the safety and ride briefing.
