Momentum is building for a Basic Bike Network

All sorts of people are getting behind the campaign to make bicycling in Downtown Seattle a possibility for people of all ages and abilities.

We’ve heard transportation leaders like Scott Kubly, Seattle Bike Advisory Board members, elected officials like Seattle Mayor Ed Murray, and Seattle City Councilmembers Sally Bagshaw, Rob Johnson and Mike O’Brien acknowledge the strategy of building a safe and protected network of places to bike.

Momentum is building. And we’re not stopping now. We’re calling on the city of Seattle to build a Basic Bike Network by 2019:

Special thanks to Mike Baab, Cascade Bicycle Club Volunteer for making this video!

May is Bike Everywhere Month, and we’ll be showing the demand for the Basic Bike Network at every at every opportunity — including Friday, May 19, this year’s Bike Everywhere Day. Mark your calendars now: We’re planning a ride and rally the morning of Friday, May 19, to show support for safe places to bike. Details to come!
